SAFETY AND CONTROL.
SITUATION
In January 2021, a test area of about 10,000 m² with different grinding textures was created in the driving range of the straddle carriers. These were tested over a period of one year and accompanied by measurement by the port operator.
The test phase yielded excellent grip results, so that in 2022 the area was expanded by a further 30,000 m².
DAMAGE
Poor grip in the concrete traffic areas (straddle carriers, lorries).
SOLUTION
The concrete traffic areas of the terminal have lost significant amounts of grip since its commissioning (2012). It was no longer possible to safely handle containers by means of straddle carriers or lorries (2800/day).
