Horizontal grinding for texturing is an innovative technology for increasing the sustainability of traffic areas. The new approach to this is to produce customised surfaces in new or existing constructions through targeted processing of micro and macrotextures. There are various possible applications.
Pioneering innovation for greater sustainability
Production of micro and macro textures to produce skid resistant and low-noise traffic areas
Significant brightening primarily with suitable asphalt top layers to improve the absorption and reflection properties
Improved driving comfort
Improvement in various thermal effects associated with the structure
Ability to compensate for the acoustic ageing of different road surfaces
Reduced noise emissions to improve quality of life for residents and road users
Improved rolling resistance enables fuel savings
Reduces microplastics produced by the use of traffic areas
Machine technology available individually, for example OAT-HS 2500
Basic parameters for control
Application-related tool parameters
Powerful grinding heads with a machining width up to 2.50 metres
Transition between micro and macrotexture, production according to customer requirements
Processing of surface using powerful large devices in the horizontal grinding process, focus on quality control
Quadro grinding head with EZ tool system, grinding disc set with premium diamond tools according to surface machining requirements
Targeted production of textures according to the required functional and performance characteristics, such as skid resistance, tyre-road noise, rolling resistance, tyre wear, reflection and absorption properties
No drying or cooling times required – this can prevent traffic jams and accidents and optimises availability
Process and product quality control
Construction of surfaces optimally adapted to needs
Can be used on concrete and asphalt, in new construction and maintenance
Transparency and quality control through accompanying measurements
