The transfer of shear forces between adjacent concrete slabs is of utmost importance for the load-bearing behaviour and therefore the durability of a concrete traffic area. A dowel bar retrofit is one way to ensure this load transfer from one slab to the other.
Ensures the transfer of shear forces in the event of non-existent/ineffective dowel bars
Dowel bar retrofit for subsequently produced expansion joints
Cutting parallel slots
Removing existing concrete from slots and cleaning them
Installing joint formwork, the mortar bed and dowel bar
Surface finish with epoxy resin mortar
Marking the dowel bar position
Diamond discs for parallel cutting
Removing existing concrete from slots
Cleaning the slots
Joint formwork with inserted dowel bar
Epoxy resin mortar paving
Prepared and finished dowel bars
Can be used in new and existing construction
Improvement in the load-bearing behaviour due to transfer of shear forces on adjacent slabs
Prevents faulting
